The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Sonargaon University, successfully organized SU CSE FEST 2025 on 27 February 2025. With participation from more than 800 students, the two-day festival featured technical competitions, project exhibitions, cultural performances, and an inspiring prize-giving ceremony, celebrating innovation, creativity, and academic excellence.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Sonargaon University, successfully organized SU CSE FEST 2025 on 27 February 2025, one of the largest and most vibrant academic festivals of the year. With the enthusiastic participation of over 800 students, the two-day event commenced with a Mock Event Day on 26 February and concluded with the main festival on 27 February, creating an inspiring platform for learning, innovation, and collaboration.
The festival featured a wide range of academic and technical competitions, including the ICT Olympiad, Programming Contest, Gaming Contest, Typing Contest, Treasure Hunt, Project Showcasing & Poster Presentation, and a Photo Exhibition. The event began with an energetic Opening Ceremony, followed by a series of competitive activities that highlighted the technical knowledge, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities of the participants. Students from different semesters actively participated, making the festival a remarkable celebration of academic excellence and innovation.
The Prize Giving Ceremony was one of the highlights of the festival. The ceremony was graced by Prof. Shamim Ara Hassan, Vice-Chancellor of Sonargaon University, as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Md. Mostofa Akbar, Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), attended as the Guest of Honor. Distinguished guests included Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ekramol Islam (Treasurer, Sonargaon University), Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Prof. Habibur Rahman Kamal, Prof. Md. Al-Amin Molla, Prof. Dr. Mohammed A. Mabud, and Muhammad Monir Hossain, CEO of BdCalling IT Ltd. The session was chaired by Prof. Bulbul Ahamed, Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. Winners and runners-up of all competitions received prize money, crests, and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances.
The festival concluded with a colorful Cultural Night, where students showcased their artistic talents through solo and group musical performances, dance, poetry, and a vibrant ramp show celebrating the rich traditions of Bangladeshi culture. The lively performances created a joyful atmosphere and reflected the creativity and diversity of the university community. By successfully integrating technology, innovation, and cultural expression, SU CSE FEST 2025 became a memorable milestone for the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and reinforced its commitment to fostering academic excellence, leadership, and holistic student development.
