A team from the Sonargaon University Programming Club (SUPC), competing under the name Dead Flag on PyHacNet, secured an impressive 9th place in the prestigious Al-Khwarizmi Capture the Flag (CTF) cybersecurity competition. The team achieved a total score of 4,668 points, reflecting their technical proficiency, teamwork, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
The team consisted of Md Sabbir Mondol, Md. Rafiuzzaman Sowrov, MD Al Rakibul Hasan Lisan, and Din Islam, who collaboratively solved a wide range of cybersecurity challenges throughout the competition. Their performance covered multiple domains, including Web Security, Digital Forensics, Cryptography, Steganography, Reverse Engineering, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), Networking, Binary Exploitation, and Miscellaneous categories.
With an overall solve rate of 46.97%, the team demonstrated exceptional dedication, technical knowledge, and collaborative skills in a highly competitive environment. This achievement highlights the growing expertise of Sonargaon University students in cybersecurity and reflects the Department of Computer Science and Engineering's commitment to encouraging participation in national and international technical competitions.
